Depending on what you choose to provide, dating information may reveal personal or sensitive characteristics such as religious beliefs, cultural background, relationship preferences, or information about your dating and intimate life. This information is used to power Loverbyte’s dating features and to help other members understand your compatibility and interests.

Information About You From Other People

Loverbyte may also receive information about you from other people, such as when another user reports your Profile or content, reports an interaction involving you, or someone contacts Loverbyte Support about an interaction or safety concern involving you.

3. Information Created When You Use Loverbyte

As you use Loverbyte, we create and store records of your activity so the product can work the way it’s designed to. This includes:

Likes
Reactions
Saves
Follows
Pokes
Crushes
Matches
Tip events
notifications
Private Room participation
timestamps of activity
other interaction and activity information needed to operate Loverbyte’s features

4. Technical and Device Information

To operate and secure Loverbyte, we may collect or receive:

basic browser or device information
IP and network information received through our hosting and infrastructure
timestamps
session and authentication information
information stored in your browser through localStorage or sessionStorage, used to operate parts of the product (for example, in-progress drafts or sign-in state)
cookies, where actually used or required by services Loverbyte depends on

5. How Loverbyte Uses Information

We use the information described above to:

create and secure your account
authenticate you when you sign in
provide your Profile and Dating Card
operate the Feed
display Bytes, comments, and replies
operate YouUp and Ghost Bytes
enable Likes, Reactions, Follows, Pokes, Saves, Crushes, and Matches
operate Private Rooms
enable Tip redirects to external payment services
deliver notifications
prevent abuse and fraud
review safety reports
provide customer support
debug and improve Loverbyte
comply with applicable legal obligations
protect Loverbyte and its users

6. How We Share Information

Loverbyte may share information in the following circumstances:

With other users and signed-out visitors, according to the visibility rules described elsewhere in this Policy — for example, what a signed-in member can see versus what a signed-out visitor sees in a limited public preview.
With service providers that process information as needed to help us operate Loverbyte, such as our authentication, database, and storage provider.
With external services you deliberately choose to interact with, such as a supported Tip provider you select to send or receive a Tip.
With legal, regulatory, or law-enforcement authorities, where we reasonably believe disclosure is required by applicable law, necessary to respond to valid legal process, or necessary to protect the safety or security of Loverbyte or its users.
With a successor or acquiring party, if Loverbyte or its underlying service is sold, transferred, reorganized, or acquired.

7. What Other People Can See

What other people can see about you on Loverbyte depends on who they are and what you’ve chosen to share:

Signed-in members may see the Profile and Dating Card information you’ve made part of your public presence, along with your public Bytes, comments, and replies, according to how the product is designed to display that information.
Signed-out visitors see only a limited public Profile preview, described in Section 8.
Owner-only information, such as your Saved content, is visible only to you.
Match and Private Room participants can see the shared conversation inside a Private Room, visible only to the two people in that Match while the room is accessible.

Content you intentionally post to public or member-facing areas of Loverbyte may be seen by other people using the service. Not every piece of information stored about your account or Dating Card is intended to be visible to every signed-in member.

8. Signed-Out Public Profile Preview

If you share your Profile link, someone who is not signed in to Loverbyte may open a limited public preview of your Profile.

This signed-out preview may include:

limited public Profile and header information
your availability or Open to Crushes status
limited dating snapshot information
up to two recent public Byte previews
limited public interaction counts or summaries

It does not include:

full Profile access
your Replies history
your Saved content
your full Dating Card
interactions such as Liking, Reacting, or Following
Tip access
Matches
Private Rooms
your account information

9. Dating Information, Crushes, and Matches

Your dating information is used to operate your Dating Card and Loverbyte’s dating features.

Turning on Open to Crushes controls whether your Dating Card is available for romantic discovery and whether other eligible members can send you a Crush.

A Crush is an intentional signal of romantic interest. A Match is created when a Crush is accepted.

Crush and Match information is not treated as ordinary public Profile content — it is only visible to the people directly involved.

10. Private Rooms

When a Crush is accepted and a Match becomes eligible to unlock its Private Room, Loverbyte creates a shared, participant-only space for that Match.

Access lasts seven days from the point the room is successfully unlocked.
Once that window ends, participants can no longer access the room.
There is currently no participant-facing read-only archive or history of past rooms.
Loverbyte may retain certain underlying room information privately, where reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, legal, security, or dispute-handling purposes, even after participant access ends.

11. Ghost Bytes and Disappearing Content

Ghost Bytes are temporary posts shared inside YouUp. They disappear from normal, user-facing access 24 hours after posting, unless the author deletes them sooner.

Saving a Ghost Byte does not preserve it after it expires or is deleted.

Disappearing from the app does not necessarily mean every underlying copy is erased immediately. Loverbyte may need to retain some information from disappearing content where reasonably necessary for reports, safety, legal, or security purposes. Ordinary users will not see this retained information — it exists only for the limited purposes described above.

12. Copies and Sharing Outside Loverbyte

Content that is visible to another person on Loverbyte could potentially be copied, screenshotted, or shared by that person, including outside Loverbyte.

Deleting content or deleting your account cannot necessarily remove copies that another person already made or shared outside Loverbyte before the deletion.

This is worth keeping in mind before sharing personal or sensitive content, and it is especially relevant to temporary or disappearing content such as Ghost Bytes. Ghost Bytes are designed to disappear from Loverbyte, but Loverbyte cannot control copies someone may have already made or shared elsewhere.

13. Tips and External Payment Services

Loverbyte currently supports Tip redirects to Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal.

When a recipient configures a supported Tip method, Loverbyte stores the information needed to make that Tip option available to signed-in members. If a sender selects that option, Loverbyte facilitates the connection by redirecting the sender to the selected external payment provider.

Loverbyte does not receive, hold, process, or verify the funds sent through that external service. Loverbyte may record that a Tip redirect was initiated, but does not receive confirmation of the amount ultimately sent or whether the external payment was completed.

Once you leave Loverbyte for Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal, your activity and transaction with that service are governed by that provider’s own terms, privacy practices, eligibility requirements, fees, and other applicable rules.

Signed-out visitors cannot use the real Tip flow.

14. Reports, Safety, and Moderation

If you report content, a Profile, or behavior, Loverbyte may collect and review:

the report itself
the content or context associated with the report
other information reasonably necessary to review the concern

Reports are handled privately. The person you report is not told who reported them.

Filing a report does not guarantee a specific outcome. We may retain moderation and safety-related records, including content that has otherwise disappeared from ordinary use, where reasonably necessary to review or respond to a concern.

15. Service Providers and External Services

Loverbyte works with service providers to operate the product. Currently, this includes:

Supabase

Used for functionality such as authentication, database storage, and file storage.

External Tip Providers

Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal, used only when you choose to send or receive a Tip.

Service providers may process information on Loverbyte’s behalf as necessary to provide infrastructure and operational services to us.

External services, including supported Tip providers such as Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal, process information according to their own terms and privacy practices when you choose to interact with them.

16. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

operate the service
maintain your account
provide Loverbyte’s features
comply with legal obligations
resolve disputes
prevent fraud or abuse
protect the safety and security of our community
enforce our House Rules

Different types of information may be kept for different lengths of time depending on why we collected it.

Content disappearing from the ordinary, user-facing product (for example, an expired Ghost Byte or Private Room) is not the same as that information being immediately and permanently deleted from every underlying system. In limited cases described elsewhere in this Policy, we may retain some information privately for safety, legal, or security reasons.

17. Account Deletion and Your Choices

You will be able to delete your own Loverbyte account directly through Account & Login in the app menu. Ordinary account deletion is not intended to require contacting support.

Deleting your account will remove or deactivate your ordinary account access and content according to the deletion flow as implemented. Deleting your account does not necessarily mean the immediate deletion of every record — we may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for legal, security, or safety purposes, such as reports or moderation records connected to your account.

You also have other choices, including:

editing your Profile information
changing your dating availability (Open to Crushes / Not Open to Crushes)
deleting individual pieces of content where supported
saving or unsaving content
following or unfollowing other members
email preferences, where implemented

18. Privacy Rights and Requests

Depending on where you live, applicable law may give you rights regarding your personal information, which may include rights to request access, correction, or deletion of certain information.

Self-service account deletion is intended to be available through Account & Login as described in Section 17, without requiring you to contact Support for ordinary account deletion.

19. Security

Loverbyte uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to help protect your information. No method of storing or transmitting information is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Never share your Magic Link or other authentication code or token with anyone, including someone claiming to be Loverbyte Support.

20. Adults Only

Loverbyte is for people 18 and older. People under 18 may not create or use a Loverbyte account. Loverbyte does not intend to offer its service to minors.

21. Cookies, Tracking, and Similar Technologies

Loverbyte relies on browser storage technologies such as localStorage and sessionStorage to operate parts of the product, such as maintaining sign-in state or in-progress drafts.

22. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Loverbyte evolves. If we make a material change, we’ll try to let you know through the service, by email, or through another reasonable method. The updated Policy will show a revised effective date.

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Loverbyte, a social and dating service built around conversation and discovery.

Account & Access Content & Conduct Crushes, Matches & Private Rooms Payments & Third Parties Reports & Safety Legal Terms

1. About These Terms

Loverbyte includes features such as Profiles, Dating Cards, the Feed, Bytes, comments, replies, Likes, Reactions, Saves, Follows, Pokes, Crushes, Matches, YouUp, Ghost Bytes, Private Rooms, Tips, Daily Themes, notifications, and safety and reporting tools where available. Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed as Loverbyte evolves, especially during this beta period.

“Loverbyte,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the Loverbyte service and its operator.

By creating an account or using Loverbyte, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our House Rules.

2. Eligibility

Loverbyte is for adults age 18 and older.

By using Loverbyte, you confirm that you:

are 18 or older
are legally able to enter into these Terms
will provide truthful account and Profile information
will not impersonate another person
will not create or use an account on behalf of someone else without authorization

Loverbyte does not currently verify every user’s identity or conduct criminal background checks. Loverbyte relies on the honesty of its members and the safety information provided in our Dating Safety Tips.

3. Your Account and Account Security

Loverbyte uses passwordless Magic Links sent to your email for account access.

You are responsible for:

protecting access to the email account connected to your Loverbyte account
keeping your Magic Links, authentication codes, and tokens private
all activity that happens through your account

Never share your Magic Link or other authentication code or token with anyone, including someone claiming to be Loverbyte Support.

Your primary login email cannot currently be changed after account creation.

You may not sell, transfer, rent, or give another person access to your Loverbyte account.

You will be able to delete your own Loverbyte account through Account & Login in the app menu. Ordinary account deletion is not intended to require contacting Support.

4. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how Loverbyte collects, uses, shares, and protects information, and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review it. These Terms do not repeat that explanation in full.

5. House Rules and Acceptable Use

Loverbyte’s House Rules set the behavioral standards for using the service and are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

You must use Loverbyte in compliance with applicable law and may not use the service to facilitate unlawful activity.

By using Loverbyte, you agree not to:

harass, bully, threaten, or intimidate another person
engage in hate speech or dehumanizing conduct
violate another person’s consent or sexual boundaries
post pornography or prohibited sexually explicit content
share intimate images or content of another person without their consent
sexualize, groom, solicit, or exploit anyone under 18
scam, manipulate, or financially pressure another person
violate another person’s privacy
spam the community
offer, request, or arrange sexual services or explicit content in exchange for money, gifts, Tips, or anything else of value
misuse reporting tools to retaliate against or harass someone who did nothing wrong

This is a summary. The full House Rules govern what is and is not allowed on Loverbyte, and Loverbyte may update them as the community and product evolve.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of the content you create and share on Loverbyte, including your Bytes, comments, replies, Ghost Bytes, Profile information, Dating Card information, photos, and Private Room messages (“Your Content”).

By posting or sharing Your Content, you confirm that:

you have the right to share it
it does not infringe another person’s copyright, privacy, publicity, or other rights
you will not share another person’s private or intimate material without their permission
you remain responsible for what you post and say

You are not required to give up ownership of Your Content to use Loverbyte.

7. Our License to Your Content

To operate, secure, moderate, maintain, and provide Loverbyte, you grant Loverbyte a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:

host and store Your Content
reproduce it as technically necessary
display it according to the product’s visibility rules
transmit and distribute it through Loverbyte
format, resize, or otherwise technically process it for presentation
make technical copies and backups
allow the service providers who help us operate Loverbyte to process it on our behalf
review, moderate, and remove it consistent with these Terms, the House Rules, our Privacy Policy, and applicable law

This license is sublicensable only as reasonably necessary to the service providers and contractors who help operate Loverbyte, and is limited to providing, securing, maintaining, technically improving, and moderating the Loverbyte service.

Loverbyte does not use Your Content for advertising or marketing purposes under this license. Any use of your identifiable content to advertise or market Loverbyte requires your separate permission.

When you delete content or your account, this license ends for ordinary use going forward. Loverbyte may retain limited copies where reasonably necessary for safety, moderation, legal obligations, security, backups, or dispute handling, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Other Members’ Content and Privacy

Content created by other members belongs to them. You may view and interact with it through Loverbyte as the product intends.

You may not:

scrape or mass-collect member data
commercially exploit another member’s content
use another member’s information to spam, harass, stalk, threaten, scam, or pursue them after they have tried to end contact
disclose another person’s private messages, identifying information, or intimate content without their permission
attempt to circumvent Loverbyte’s privacy or access restrictions

You may screenshot or share your own Loverbyte content outside Loverbyte. If a screenshot includes another member’s content, identity, comment, Profile information, or Private Room message, you should get their permission or crop, blur, or otherwise remove identifying or private material before sharing it.

Content visible to another person on Loverbyte could potentially be copied or shared by that person, including outside Loverbyte. Deleting content or an account cannot necessarily remove copies someone else already made before the deletion.

9. Loverbyte Content and Intellectual Property

Loverbyte retains all rights in its name, branding, logo, product design, software, user interface, original graphics and content we supply, and other proprietary materials.

We grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-transferable right to use Loverbyte for its intended purpose, as long as you comply with these Terms.

You may not:

scrape Loverbyte or collect user data without authorization
use bots or automation that interferes with the service
reverse engineer Loverbyte except where applicable law permits it
introduce malicious code
attempt to bypass Loverbyte’s access, privacy, or security controls
use Loverbyte’s branding in a way that suggests endorsement without permission

This does not prohibit ordinary browser use, accessibility tools, search indexing Loverbyte intentionally allows, or screenshotting your own content as described in Section 8.

Feedback

If you voluntarily send Loverbyte suggestions, ideas, or feedback about the product, we may use them without owing you compensation or confidentiality, unless we separately agree otherwise. This does not apply to Your Content, such as Bytes or Profile material, which remains governed by Sections 6 and 7.

10. Profiles, Dating Cards, and Community Features

Profiles and Dating Cards

Your Profile is your broader presence on Loverbyte. Your Dating Card is the romantic-discovery layer attached to your Profile when Open to Crushes is enabled. Viewing someone’s Profile or Dating Card does not itself indicate romantic interest. You are responsible for the information you choose to present, and no Profile or Dating Card guarantees that another person’s information is true, safe, compatible, or suitable for you.

Feed, Bytes, and Participation

Bytes, comments, replies, and Daily Themes are community content. Loverbyte does not guarantee visibility, reach, responses, Likes, Reactions, engagement, Crushes, or popularity for anything you post. Features, layout, and ordering may change as Loverbyte evolves, particularly during beta.

Interaction Tools

Likes, Reactions, Follows, Saves, and Pokes are interaction tools, not promises. An interaction does not create an obligation from anyone. A Follow is not necessarily romantic. A Poke is not necessarily romantic. Likes and Reactions do not constitute consent to anything. Save is a private bookmarking action, visible only according to Loverbyte’s product rules.

11. Crushes, Matches, and Private Rooms

Crushes

A Crush is an intentional signal of romantic interest. Sending a Crush does not require the recipient to respond. Receiving a Crush creates no obligation. Romantic interest expressed through a Crush is not consent to sexual activity, contact, a date, or any other interaction.

Matches

A Match is created when a Crush is accepted. A Match does not guarantee compatibility, safety, a date, or continued communication. A Match does not create any obligation to move a conversation off Loverbyte, and does not create consent to sexual or romantic activity.

Private Rooms

A Private Room is a shared, participant-only space connected to a Match. Access depends on successfully unlocking the room under Loverbyte’s applicable access rules. Participant-facing access lasts seven days after successful unlock. After that window ends, participants lose access, and there is currently no participant-facing archive of past rooms. Leaving a room may end participant access according to the implemented flow. Loverbyte may privately retain some underlying room information for safety, moderation, legal, security, or dispute-handling purposes, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Loverbyte does not promise end-to-end encryption, and a Private Room should not be understood as private from Loverbyte itself for the limited purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Dating and Interactions With Other Members

Loverbyte provides tools to help people discover, communicate with, and potentially meet one another. Loverbyte does not control what other users say or do.

Loverbyte does not guarantee another user’s identity, honesty, intentions, compatibility, conduct, or safety. A Crush, Match, Profile, or Dating Card is not an endorsement or a safety certification of another person.

You are responsible for exercising your own judgment in your interactions with other members, online and offline. We encourage you to review our Dating Safety Tips and to report concerning conduct through Loverbyte’s available reporting tools.

13. YouUp and Ghost Bytes

Ghost Bytes are temporary posts shared inside YouUp. They normally disappear from user-facing access 24 hours after posting, unless the author deletes them sooner. Saving a Ghost Byte does not preserve it after it expires.

Temporary does not mean untraceable — you should not assume that Ghost Byte content cannot be screenshotted or copied by someone who sees it. Expiration from the user-facing product does not necessarily mean every underlying copy is deleted immediately; Loverbyte may retain limited information where necessary as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Tips and External Payment Services

Loverbyte currently supports Tip redirects to Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal.

Loverbyte facilitates the connection by redirecting a sender to the external payment provider a recipient has configured. Loverbyte does not receive, hold, process, or verify the funds sent, and is not a party to the external payment transaction. Loverbyte does not guarantee that a Tip payment will be completed.

The selected provider’s own terms, privacy practices, eligibility requirements, fees, and other rules govern the external transaction. Loverbyte does not determine that provider’s fees, and does not handle that provider’s refunds, reversals, or disputes.

The recipient is responsible for the accuracy of the payment destination they configure. Both the sender and recipient are responsible for complying with the selected provider’s rules. Supported Tip providers may change.

Tips are voluntary. A Tip does not buy, and does not create a right to, a response, a Follow, a Poke, Crush acceptance, a Match, access to a Private Room, a date, personal contact information, explicit content, sexual activity, intimacy, or any other access to another person.

Offering, requesting, or arranging sexual services, explicit content, or sexual or intimate access in exchange for money, Tips, gifts, or anything else of value is prohibited. Financial scams, coercion, pressure, guilt-based requests, fake emergencies, and other deceptive money requests are prohibited.

15. Reporting, Moderation, and Enforcement

You may report content, a Profile, or behavior through Loverbyte’s available reporting tools. Reports are reviewed privately, and the identity of the person who filed a report is not disclosed to the reported person, except where legally required. Filing a report does not guarantee a particular outcome.

False, retaliatory, discriminatory, or knowingly abusive reports may themselves violate these Terms.

Reporting concerning behavior and leaving a Private Room are separate actions. One does not require the other.

Loverbyte reserves reasonable discretion to:

remove content
restrict access to features
suspend an account
terminate or remove an account
preserve relevant information
cooperate with valid legal requests
take action proportionate to the severity, context, harm, repeated conduct, and history involved

There is no guaranteed public strike count, warning ladder, or appeal process at this time. Serious violations can result in immediate suspension or removal.

16. Account Suspension, Termination, and Deletion

You may terminate your account through Loverbyte’s self-service account deletion flow, described in Section 3.

Loverbyte may suspend, restrict, or terminate an account for:

violations of these Terms
violations of the House Rules
safety or security threats
fraud or scams
illegal use of the service
attempts to compromise Loverbyte
serious or repeated misconduct

When reasonably relevant to the safety of Loverbyte members or the integrity of the service, Loverbyte may consider credible reports of serious conduct involving another Loverbyte member that occurs outside Loverbyte, including threats, harassment, stalking, scams, sexual violence, coercion, or other serious safety concerns.

If Loverbyte terminates your account for violating these Terms or the House Rules, you may not create or use another account to evade that enforcement action unless Loverbyte gives you permission to return.

Some provisions of these Terms naturally continue after your account ends, including ownership of content, limited retained-data obligations described in our Privacy Policy, disclaimers, liability provisions, and dispute-related provisions.

17. Beta Service and Changes to Features

Loverbyte is an evolving beta service. Features may be added, removed, changed, limited, tested, interrupted, or unavailable at times. Bugs and downtime may occur.

Loverbyte does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and may make reasonable changes to the product as it develops. This section does not override any specific guarantees made to paying subscribers once billing terms are finalized, and does not excuse Loverbyte’s privacy or security obligations.

18. Third-Party Services and Links

Loverbyte may include links or connections to third-party services, including supported Tip providers. These third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices, separate from Loverbyte’s.

Loverbyte does not control the availability, content, payment systems, rules, or actions of third-party services, and a link or redirect to a third-party service does not mean Loverbyte guarantees or endorses everything that service does.

19. Electronic Communications

By using Loverbyte, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including Magic Link and account-access emails, service and security notices, support responses, notices of changes to these Terms or our Privacy Policy, and approved activity notifications where applicable.

Optional promotional emails, where offered, are not treated as mandatory service communications.

20. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Loverbyte is provided on an “as available” basis. Loverbyte does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, and does not guarantee that content posted by users is accurate.

Loverbyte does not guarantee that another member is truthful, safe, compatible, available, or interested, and does not guarantee a Match, a date, a relationship, a response, or any romantic outcome. Loverbyte does not guarantee that an external Tip payment will be completed.

You remain responsible for your own decisions about communicating and meeting with other members.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.

21. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Loverbyte and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or similar damages arising from your use of the service.

22. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold Loverbyte harmless from third-party claims arising out of: your content, your unlawful conduct, your violation of another person’s rights, or your material breach of these Terms.

23. Copyright / Intellectual Property Complaints

Users should not infringe the copyrights or other intellectual property rights of others on Loverbyte. If you believe your intellectual property rights have been infringed, please contact us.

24. Changes to These Terms

Loverbyte may update these Terms as the product evolves. An updated version will show a revised effective date. Continued use of Loverbyte after the effective date may indicate your acceptance of the updated Terms where legally permitted. If a change requires your affirmative consent, we will ask for it.

26. Miscellaneous

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and House Rules, make up the entire agreement between you and Loverbyte regarding your use of the service. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Loverbyte’s failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of that provision. You may not assign these Terms; Loverbyte may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. Section headings are for convenience only.

Byte

What it is: A Byte is a regular post shared on Loverbyte.

What it can contain: Text, an image, a question, a story, or anything you want to share with the community.

Why it matters: Bytes help people discover your personality through what you think, share, and talk about, not just through your profile or Dating Card.

Why we call it a Byte: It is part love bite, part digital byte, and part putting yourself out there to see who bites.

Not to be confused with: A Ghost Byte, which is a disappearing post shared inside YouUp.

Ghost Byte

What it is: A Ghost Byte is a disappearing post shared inside YouUp. Think Instagram Stories or Snapchat, but in Loverbyte's conversation-first format. It works just like a regular Byte, but vanishes 24 hours after it is posted.

What you can do: Share text or an image, then interact the same way you would with any other Byte. People can like, comment, Poke, and send a Crush from a Ghost Byte.

Why it matters: Ghost Bytes are for waking up the group chat, sharing what is happening tonight, or posting something a little spicier that you may not want living on your regular feed forever.

Good to know: Ghost Bytes live in their own YouUp feed, separate from regular Bytes, and carry a marker so you always know what kind of post you are viewing. Each Ghost Byte also displays a countdown showing when it will disappear. You can create a Ghost Byte inside YouUp from 10 PM to 4 AM based on the local time on your device, wherever you are in the world. Still-live Ghost Bytes remain viewable outside that creation window, right up until they expire 24 hours after posting (or sooner, if the author deletes it).

Not to be confused with: A Byte, which is a regular Loverbyte post, or YouUp, which is the feed and format where Ghost Bytes are created and viewed.

YouUp

What it is: YouUp is Loverbyte's late-night feed for Ghost Bytes. It gives temporary, in-the-moment posts their own space instead of mixing them into the regular feed.

Why it matters: YouUp is where you go to wake up the group chat, see what everyone is doing tonight, and share the kind of thoughts, updates, or slightly spicier content that belong in the moment rather than on your profile forever.

Good to know: YouUp opens every night from 10 PM to 4 AM based on the local time on your device, wherever you are in the world. The posts inside YouUp are called Ghost Bytes. Each Ghost Byte disappears 24 hours after it is posted and displays a countdown showing how much time it has left.

Not to be confused with: A Ghost Byte is an individual disappearing post. YouUp is the feed and format where Ghost Bytes are created and viewed.

Feed

What it is: The Feed is Loverbyte's main stream of regular Bytes and community conversations.

How it works: The Feed prioritizes Bytes from people you follow and keeps posts in chronological order, with the newest Bytes appearing first.

Daily themes: Each day has its own broad Loverbyte theme: a meaningful conversation category, not an optional decorative prompt. The themes balance fun, attraction, intimacy, values, money, accountability, and emotional substance across the week. You can join the day's conversation and put your own spin on it.

Why it matters: The Feed gives you more than profiles to judge people by. It lets you discover their humour, opinions, stories, personality, and how they interact with others over time.

Good to know: Regular Bytes appear in the Feed and remain available unless they are deleted. Temporary Ghost Bytes live separately inside YouUp, where there are no Daily Themes and people can post more freely in the moment.

How the weekly conversation works: Each day introduces a new Daily Theme, but Bytes from the previous day do not disappear when the conversation moves forward. They remain available throughout the current weekly Feed, so you can revisit Monday's discussions later in the week, leave a comment, or catch up on something you missed. Community attention naturally moves to the current day's theme, because that is the conversation the community is exploring together. The main Feed begins a fresh cycle each Sunday. This weekly reset does not delete your Bytes. They remain part of your Profile and content history unless you choose to remove them.

Daily Themes

What they are: Daily Themes give each day on Loverbyte a shared conversation focus. They help the community explore the many sides of love, dating, relationships, and life together.

Why they matter: Love is not only serious, and it is not only fun. Real connection includes ambition, money, values, attraction, humour, intimacy, healing, and everything in between. Loverbyte's Daily Themes create space for both substance and play so that one side does not drown out the other. Each theme makes an important category of conversation easier to find. Someone interested in how people think about career, money, and building a future can tune in on Monday. Someone looking for lighter, flirtier, or more intimate conversation knows when those topics will take centre stage. The themes also help you learn more about people over time. You may discover how someone thinks about finances through a Byte they post, a comment they leave, or the way they participate in that day's conversations.

How they work: Each day has a broad theme that guides what the community talks about. The themes are not single prompts and there is no one correct way to participate. You can share your own story, ask a question, offer an opinion, respond to someone else, or explore any subject that meaningfully connects to the theme. Users should keep their Bytes relevant to the day's theme, but every theme leaves plenty of room for different perspectives and conversations.

Good to know: Luna and Coco may introduce specific prompts within the day's theme, but the theme itself is larger than any one prompt. It acts as the day's shared conversation lane and gives people a reason to return knowing what the community will be exploring.

Money Moves Monday

What it is: Money Moves Monday is Loverbyte's weekly theme for conversations about career, money, ambition, lifestyle goals, and the future you are building.

Why it matters: How someone approaches work, finances, success, and long-term goals can shape an entire relationship. Money Moves Monday gives these conversations a regular place on Loverbyte so they do not get ignored until two people are already deeply involved. It is also a chance to learn how someone thinks beyond their Dating Card. Their Bytes, comments, and replies may reveal what they are working toward, what financial habits matter to them, how they define success, and whether their vision of partnership fits yours.

What belongs here: Career wins, soft-life goals, financial red flags, ambition, dating standards, power-couple dreams, generational wealth, money habits, lifestyle expectations, and the bag you are building. The theme can be practical, personal, aspirational, funny, or messy. The common thread is how money, work, and the future connect to love and relationships.

Good to know: Money Moves Monday is broader than a single prompt. Luna and Coco may introduce specific questions throughout the day, but users can explore any conversation that meaningfully connects to money, career, ambition, or building a life with someone.

Toxic Teasday Tuesday

What it is: Toxic Teasday Tuesday is Loverbyte's weekly theme for unpacking the red flags, mixed signals, situationships, emotional plot twists, and questionable relationship decisions that keep the group chat working overtime.

How it works: Comments join the main conversation started by the original post. Other users can Like, reply to, Poke, or send a Crush from a comment, just as they can from other content on Loverbyte.

Why it matters: Comments are where a Byte becomes a conversation. They let you share your perspective, ask questions, add humour, offer advice, or connect with someone through what they said. They also help people get to know you. Someone may first notice your personality, values, or sense of humour through a comment you leave on another person's Byte.

Good to know: A Comment responds to the original Byte or Ghost Byte. A Reply responds directly to a particular comment or another reply, helping smaller conversations stay connected to the right person.

Reply

What it is: A Reply is a response directed to a specific comment or another reply beneath a Byte or Ghost Byte.

How it works: Replies create smaller conversation threads inside the larger discussion. Other users can Like, reply to, Poke, or send a Crush from a reply.

Why it matters: Replies help conversations feel personal and organised. Instead of speaking to the entire comment section, you can respond directly to one person, continue a side conversation, ask a follow-up question, or build on what they shared. Replies can also help people notice your personality, humour, values, and communication style through the way you engage with others.

Good to know: A Comment responds to the original Byte or Ghost Byte. A Reply responds to a specific person within that conversation.

Posting Tips

What they are: Posting Tips are practical suggestions for creating Bytes that fit Loverbyte's conversation-first community.

Why they matter: A strong Byte gives people something to respond to and helps them discover more than what appears on your Profile or Dating Card. It can reveal your humour, values, opinions, experiences, and the way you connect with others.

What makes a good Byte: Connect your post to the day's theme, share enough context for people to join the conversation, and give them something meaningful to react to. That might be a story, question, opinion, confession, photo, or playful debate. You do not need to sound polished or manufacture a profound revelation every time. The best Bytes usually feel specific, honest, and easy for someone else to enter.

Good to know: The Daily Themes are broad areas of conversation, not single prompts. Luna and Coco may offer a specific prompt, but you can explore any angle that genuinely fits the theme. Posting Tips are guidance, while the House Rules establish what content and behaviour are allowed.

Social & Connection

Like

What it is: A Like is a quick way to show that you enjoyed, agreed with, or appreciated something someone shared.

How it works: You can Like a Byte, Ghost Byte, comment, or reply. The person receives a notification connected to the specific content you liked.

Why it matters: Not every response needs a full comment. A Like lets someone know their thought, joke, story, or perspective landed with you and encourages conversations to keep flowing.

Good to know: A Like can be friendly, supportive, or appreciative. It does not automatically communicate romantic interest. A Poke is a more playful way to get someone's attention, while a Crush intentionally tells someone you are romantically interested.

Reactions

What they are: Reactions let you respond to a Byte, Ghost Byte, comment, or reply with an emoji or sticker.

Why they matter: Sometimes a Like is too general, but you still do not need to write a full comment. Reactions let you show whether something made you laugh, surprised you, caught your attention, or gave you a more specific response.

How they work: Open the reaction picker and choose an emoji or sticker that fits your response. Reactions appear beneath the content with their counts so people can see how the community responded.

Good to know: A Like is the heart button and communicates quick appreciation. A Reaction uses an emoji or sticker to express a more specific response. Neither automatically communicates romantic interest.

Save

What it is: Saved is your private collection of Bytes, comments, replies, and other content you bookmarked to revisit later.

How it works: When you select Save, the content is added to your Saved section. You can remove it at any time by selecting Save again.

Why it matters: Saved gives you somewhere to keep advice, stories, conversations, or posts that caught your attention without needing to respond immediately. It can also help you remember what first interested you in someone while you take time to follow them and build rapport.

Good to know: Only you can see what you have saved. Your Saved section is visible when you view your own Profile, but it is hidden from everyone else. The creator can see the total number of Saves their content has received, but they are not notified and cannot see who saved it. Unsaving removes it from your Saved section and lowers the public Save count.

Follow

What it is: Following someone means you want to keep up with what they share on Loverbyte.

Why it matters: Loverbyte is designed to help you discover people over time, not make an instant decision from a profile alone. Following someone lets you keep them in your orbit while you learn more about their personality, values, humour, opinions, and how they interact with others. It is especially useful when someone catches your attention, but you are not ready to send a Crush or decide whether there is romantic potential yet.

How it works: Bytes from people you follow are prioritised in your Feed. Within that followed content, newer Bytes appear first so you can keep up with their latest conversations.

Good to know: Following is low-pressure. It can mean that you enjoy someone's content, find them interesting, or simply want to see more from them. It does not automatically mean romantic interest. A Crush is Loverbyte's intentional way of telling someone you are romantically interested.

Poke

What it is: A Poke is a light, playful way to get someone's attention on Loverbyte.

Why it matters: Sometimes a Like feels too quiet, but a Crush feels too serious. A Poke gives you a low-pressure way to say, "I noticed you," "That caught my attention," or "Come talk to me." It gives attraction and curiosity room to develop without forcing either person to make an immediate romantic decision.

How it works: You can send a Poke from someone's content, such as a Byte, comment, reply, or Ghost Byte. The person receives a notification connected to what made you Poke them.

Good to know: A Poke can be friendly, playful, or flirty. It does not automatically mean romantic interest, create a Match, or open a Private Room. A Crush is the more intentional signal used when you want someone to know you are romantically interested.

Crush

What it is: A Crush is Loverbyte's intentional way of telling someone you are romantically interested in them.

Why it matters: On many dating apps, you are pushed to make an immediate decision based on a profile and a few photos. Loverbyte gives you time to encounter someone more than once, follow their conversations, notice how they interact with others, and build some rapport before making your move. A Crush is for the moment when the vibe has been vibing and you genuinely feel ready to explore the connection further.

How it works: You can send a Crush from someone's Dating Card or from the specific Byte, comment, reply, or Ghost Byte that sparked your interest. Keeping the source attached helps the recipient understand what made you notice them. Before the Crush is sent, Loverbyte asks you to confirm your choice so that it is deliberate rather than impulsive.

Why there is a cooldown: The one-year cooldown prevents someone from repeatedly sending Crushes and making another person feel pressured or spammed. It also encourages you to think before sending:

Is this the right moment to make a move?
Have we built enough rapport?
Have I seen enough of this person to know that my interest is genuine?

A Crush should feel meaningful when it arrives, not like another notification fired from a romantic confetti cannon.

While you are deciding: You do not have to rush. You can follow the person to keep up with what they share or privately save the Byte, comment, reply, or Ghost Byte that first caught your attention.

What happens next: Receiving a Crush does not automatically create a Match. The recipient must intentionally accept it. Once accepted, the two of you become a Match, and Loverbyte creates one shared Private Room for the connection. Whether that room is immediately accessible depends on the pair's available Private Room unlocks or an active Early Access Basic membership. If the room cannot be unlocked yet, the Match remains available while the pair waits for eligibility or an upgrade.

Good to know: Sending a Crush does not guarantee acceptance, and the person receiving it is never obligated to respond.

Not to be confused with: A Like appreciates something someone shared. A Follow helps you keep up with them. A Poke playfully gets their attention. A Crush clearly communicates romantic interest.

Match

What it is: A Match happens when someone intentionally accepts a Crush.

Why it matters: A Match confirms that the romantic interest is mutual. One person made a clear move, and the other person actively chose to explore the connection too.

How it works: When you receive a Crush, you can review the person, see what inspired their Crush, and decide whether you want to accept it. Accepting creates one Match between the two of you and one shared Private Room for the connection. Access to that room depends on the pair's available free Private Room unlocks or an active Early Access Basic membership. If access is not yet available, the Match remains in place while the pair waits for renewed eligibility or for one person to upgrade.

Good to know: Following, liking, Poking, or interacting with each other does not automatically make you a Match. Even if two people are interested in one another, Loverbyte waits for an intentional Crush acceptance before creating a Private Room. A Match does not promise a relationship. It simply means you have both agreed that the connection is worth exploring. If two people have already sent each other a Crush, Loverbyte treats them as one connection: only one Match, one shared Private Room, and one unlock event are created, never two.

Not to be confused with: A Crush expresses romantic interest. A Match confirms that the interest has been accepted and is mutual.

Private Room

What it is: A Private Room is a cosy, one-on-one space created for a Match after a Crush is accepted. It becomes accessible once the pair's unlock requirements are met, and each Private Room is available for seven days from the point it is unlocked.

Why it matters: The public Feed helps you notice someone, build rapport, and learn how they think. The Private Room gives both people a more personal setting to explore their chemistry and compatibility without immediately moving the conversation outside Loverbyte. It is designed to feel more intentional than an ordinary direct message: a temporary little space created specifically for one Match.

Why it lasts seven days: The seven-day window encourages both people to actively explore the connection instead of allowing another conversation to drift indefinitely. By the end of the seven days, you may decide to:

schedule a date
exchange contact information
continue connecting elsewhere
decide that the chemistry is not there

There is no required outcome. The goal is simply to give the connection enough focus to move towards a real decision.

When the room expires: The Private Room shows a visible countdown and an exact closing date and time, and you'll get reminders at 24 hours and 1 hour before it expires. Once the seven days end, new messages are blocked and the room becomes inaccessible to both people. It disappears from your accessible rooms, and any old notification or direct link to it will show "This Private Room has expired." The room cannot be reopened, and there is no read-only mode, Past Rooms section, or archive to revisit old messages after expiration.

How it helps with safety: A Private Room lets you talk without immediately sharing your phone number, social media accounts, or other personal contact information. Keeping the early conversation inside Loverbyte also gives users access to the platform's safety and reporting tools if something inappropriate happens. You should only share personal information or meet offline when you feel comfortable doing so.

How it works: When someone accepts a Crush, Loverbyte creates one shared Private Room for the Match. The room becomes accessible once it is unlocked through the pair's available free allowances or an active Early Access Basic membership. Once unlocked, both people can return to that room during its seven-day window to continue the conversation.

Good to know: Following, liking, Poking, commenting, or replying does not create or unlock a Private Room. A room is only created after an intentional Crush acceptance, and only becomes accessible once the unlock requirements are met. A Match creates an opportunity to explore a connection. It does not create an obligation to exchange information, meet in person, or continue communicating.

Not to be confused with: A Match is the mutual decision to explore the connection. A Private Room is the seven-day space where that exploration happens.

Private Room Unlocks

What it is: A Private Room unlock gives two matched users access to their shared seven-day Private Room after a Crush is accepted. Sending a Crush is free. An unlock is only used when a Match becomes eligible to open its Private Room.

How free access works: Free users receive two free Private Room unlocks within a rolling 12-month period. When both people in a Match are free users:

each person must have at least one unlock available
opening the Private Room uses one unlock from each person

This means both people contribute equally to opening the shared room.

How Early Access Basic works: When either person has an active Early Access Basic subscription, their membership unlocks the Private Room for both people. The free partner does not use one of their two free unlocks when the Basic member covers the room. Early Access Basic members can unlock unlimited new Private Rooms while their subscription is active.

If the room cannot be unlocked yet: The Match is not deleted or lost. It remains available while the pair waits for renewed eligibility or for one person to upgrade.

Reciprocal Crushes: When two people have already sent each other a Crush, Loverbyte treats them as one connection. Only one Match and one shared Private Room are created. A reciprocal Crush does not create two rooms or charge either person twice. When both users are free, one unlock is used from each person.

Room duration: Once unlocked, the Private Room is available for seven days. Canceling Early Access Basic does not close a room that was already unlocked during its active seven-day period. The seven-day space is designed to help the pair talk intentionally, explore their chemistry, exchange contact information, plan a date, or decide whether they want to continue elsewhere.

Good to know: A Crush expresses romantic interest. A Match happens when that interest is accepted. A Private Room unlock gives the Match access to its shared seven-day conversation space.

Early Access Basic

What it is: Early Access Basic is Loverbyte's introductory launch subscription for users who want unlimited new Private Room unlocks while their membership is active.

How it works: When either person in a Match has Early Access Basic, their membership unlocks the shared seven-day Private Room for both people. The other person does not need a subscription, and a free partner does not use one of their two free Private Room allowances when the Basic member covers the room.

Your introductory benefits: The current Early Access Basic benefits are guaranteed for your first three paid months. During that period:

After your first three paid months, its pricing, features, or limits may evolve as Loverbyte learns what remains valuable and sustainable for the community. Loverbyte will provide at least 30 days' notice before a material change takes effect. Changes will apply going forward at a future renewal and will not retroactively charge for or revoke Private Rooms you already unlocked.

Good to know:

Sending Crushes remains free.
Early Access Basic provides unlimited new Private Room unlocks, not permanent Private Rooms.
Each unlocked Private Room still follows the standard seven-day duration.

The Promise: Your launch benefits are guaranteed for your first three paid months. After that, the plan may evolve with advance notice, but changes will not affect Private Rooms you already unlocked.

Tip

What it is: A Tip is a real-money contribution sent directly to another Loverbyte user through Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal.

Why it matters: Sometimes a Like is not enough. You may want to thank someone whose dating advice helped you, support someone who shared a meaningful story, brighten the day of someone going through a difficult time, or simply show appreciation for what they bring to the community. Tips help support circulate directly between the people who make Loverbyte's conversations valuable.

How it works: Users can optionally add their Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal link while setting up their Profile or later through Edit Profile. They may add one payment option or all three. When someone selects Tip from that user's Profile or Byte, Loverbyte displays the payment options they have provided. The sender chooses a service and is redirected to complete the payment directly through that platform. The sender may also include a message explaining why they are tipping and mention that they found the recipient through Loverbyte.

Good to know: Adding payment information is optional. Users who do not add a Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal link cannot receive Tips through Loverbyte. Loverbyte does not process the payment, hold the money, or monitor whether the transaction is completed after the sender leaves the platform. A successful redirect only means that the selected payment service opened successfully. Loverbyte takes no cut from Tips. Payments are sent directly through the recipient's chosen service.

Profile & Identity

Dating Card

What it is: Your Dating Card is the dating-focused section attached to your Loverbyte Profile when you turn on Open to Crushes.

Why it matters: Your Bytes, comments, and replies show people how you naturally think and interact. Your Dating Card adds the romantic context they need, including what you are looking for, your preferences, your lifestyle, and other information that can help someone understand whether you may be compatible. Together, your Profile activity and Dating Card give people more than a few photos and a quick yes-or-no decision.

How it works: When you are Open to Crushes, your Dating Card appears directly on your Profile. People can browse its photos and dating information while learning more about you. You can use Dating Card Settings to create, edit, or update the information shown on your card and manage whether you are Open to Crushes.

Good to know: Turning off Open to Crushes means you are not currently accepting romantic Crushes. Your broader Profile can still remain part of the Loverbyte community. Viewing someone's Dating Card does not tell them that you are romantically interested. Sending a Crush is the intentional action that communicates that interest.

Profile

What it is: Your Profile is your public home on Loverbyte. It brings together your identity, your Bytes, your public conversations, and your Dating Card when you are Open to Crushes.

Posting a Byte: You can create a new Byte from the main Feed or directly from your Profile. Either way, it is the same kind of Byte: it can appear in the Feed and is also added to the Bytes section of your Profile.

What people can see: People visiting your Profile can see the public information you have chosen to share, along with your Bytes and the public comments and replies you have left in conversations across Loverbyte. Your replies matter because they show another side of you. Someone may learn just as much from how you answer a question, tell a joke, give advice, or respond to another person as they do from the Bytes you create yourself.

What stays private: Other people cannot see the content you have saved. Your Saved section is visible only to you when viewing your own Profile.

Dating on your Profile: When you are Open to Crushes, your Dating Card is attached directly to your Profile. This lets people explore your dating photos, preferences, prompts, and compatibility information alongside the way you participate in the community.

Why it matters: Your Profile gives people more than a polished introduction. It allows them to see what you share, what conversations interest you, how you communicate, and how you interact with others over time.

Good to know: Your Profile is the complete public page. Your Dating Card is the dating-focused section displayed within it when you are Open to Crushes.

Open to Crushes

What it is: Open to Crushes means you are currently using Loverbyte for romantic discovery and are willing to receive Crushes from other users.

How it works: When you turn on Open to Crushes, your Dating Card appears as part of your Profile. People can view your dating photos, preferences, prompts, and compatibility information before deciding whether to send a Crush. You can manage this through Dating Card Settings, where you can update your card or change whether you are open to receiving Crushes.

Why it matters: Open to Crushes gives people a clear signal about how you want to participate. They do not have to guess whether you are interested in dating or whether romantic attention is welcome. It also lets you remain part of Loverbyte's wider conversations without being permanently locked into dating mode. You can change your setting when your intentions change.

Good to know: Open to Crushes does not mean you are interested in everyone, and it does not obligate you to accept or respond to a Crush. When someone is Not Open to Crushes, they can still have a Profile, post Bytes, follow people, and participate in conversations, but they are not currently accepting Crushes.

Not Open to Crushes

What it is: Not Open to Crushes means you are not currently accepting romantic Crushes on Loverbyte.

How it works: When this setting is turned on, your Profile can remain visible and active, but your Dating Card is not presented for romantic discovery and other users cannot send you a Crush. You can still post Bytes, comment, reply, follow people, receive followers, and participate in the Loverbyte community.

Why it matters: Your intentions can change. You may want to take a break from dating, focus on conversations and community, or simply stop receiving romantic interest for a while without leaving Loverbyte completely. This setting makes your boundary clear so people do not have to guess whether Crushes are welcome.

Good to know: Not Open to Crushes does not mean you are unavailable for every kind of interaction. People may still engage with your public content through the features available to them. You can change your status through Dating Card Settings whenever you are ready to become Open to Crushes again.

Not to be confused with: Not Open to Crushes controls romantic Crushes and Dating Card visibility. It does not deactivate your Profile or remove you from the Loverbyte community.

Dating Card Settings

What it is: Dating Card Settings is where you create, update, and manage the dating-focused information attached to your Profile.

What you can manage: You can update details such as your dating photos, preferences, relationship goals, lifestyle information, and answers to Dating Card prompts. You can also control whether you are Open to Crushes or Not Open to Crushes.

Why it matters: Your intentions and preferences may change over time. Dating Card Settings lets you keep your romantic information accurate so people are not making decisions based on an outdated version of you.

Good to know: Dating Card Settings controls the dating section of your Profile. General information such as your bio, profile photo, name, and other public Profile details is managed through Edit Profile. Changing your Dating Card does not send a notification or automatically communicate interest in anyone.

Edit Profile

What it is: Edit Profile is where you update the general information that represents you across Loverbyte.

What you can manage: You can update details such as your profile photo, display name, pronouns, bio, and other general information shown on your public Profile.

Why it matters: Your Profile is often someone's first stop after they notice one of your Bytes, comments, or replies. Keeping it current helps people understand who you are before they explore your content or Dating Card.

Good to know: Edit Profile manages your broader Loverbyte identity. Your dating photos, romantic preferences, relationship goals, and Open to Crushes setting are managed separately through Dating Card Settings. Account information such as your login email belongs under Account & Login, not Edit Profile.

Account & Login

What it is: Account & Login is where you review the information connected to accessing your Loverbyte account.

What you can find there: Your username or handle and your primary email address.

Why it matters: Keeping your account information accurate helps you maintain access to Loverbyte.

Good to know: Account & Login is for sign-in information. Your name, profile photo, pronouns, and bio are managed through Edit Profile, while your dating information and Open to Crushes setting are managed through Dating Card Settings.

Magic Link

What it is: A Magic Link is the secure sign-in link Loverbyte sends to your email address.

How it works: Enter the email connected to your account, then open the message from Loverbyte and select the sign-in link. It returns you to Loverbyte and signs you into that account without requiring a password.

Why it matters: Magic Links make account access simpler while confirming that you can access the email associated with the account.

Good to know: Always request the Magic Link using the email connected to the Loverbyte account you want to open. If a Magic Link isn't working or you need more help getting in, contact Loverbyte Support. Do not forward your Magic Link or share it with anyone else, because it is meant to provide access to your account.

Platform & Notifications

Notifications

What they are: Notifications let you know when someone interacts with you or your content on Loverbyte.

What you may be notified about: You may receive notifications for Likes, comments, replies, Pokes, Crushes, Matches, and other activity connected to your Loverbyte presence.

How they work: Notifications appear under the bell icon. Selecting one takes you to the relevant Byte, Ghost Byte, comment, reply, Profile, or Crush whenever that content is still available. Some important activity may also be delivered by email.

Why they matter: Loverbyte is built around ongoing conversations. Notifications help you return to the right discussion, see who has engaged with you, and respond without having to search through the Feed.

Good to know: A notification does not always mean romantic interest. A Like, comment, Follow, or Poke can be friendly or conversational. A Crush is the notification that clearly communicates romantic interest. If the original content has been deleted or a Ghost Byte has expired, the notification may remain visible even though the content can no longer be opened.

Safety & Trust

Report

What it is: Report lets you privately alert Loverbyte about content or behavior that may violate the community's rules or make the platform feel unsafe.

Why it matters: Reporting helps Loverbyte identify harassment, inappropriate content, scams, threats, unwanted sexual behavior, and other conduct that may need review.

How it works: Select Report wherever the option is available, choose the reason that best describes the problem, and provide any additional information that may help Loverbyte understand what happened.

Good to know: The person you report is not told who submitted the report. Reporting something does not automatically remove the content or punish the person. It sends the situation to Loverbyte for review so the appropriate action can be considered. A report should be used for genuine safety or rule concerns, not simply because you disagree with someone or are no longer interested in them.

Report This Content / Report This Profile

What it is: These reporting options let you alert Loverbyte about a user, Byte, Ghost Byte, comment, reply, or other activity that may violate the House Rules or create a safety concern.

How it works: Use Report this content directly from the Byte, Ghost Byte, comment, or reply you are concerned about. Use Report this profile from the person's Profile when your concern involves the account or a broader pattern of behavior rather than one specific post. You will be asked to select the reason that best describes the issue and may be able to provide additional context for review.

Why it matters: Keeping reports attached to the exact content or Profile helps Loverbyte understand what happened and review the relevant context more accurately.

Good to know: These options are for concerns involving another user, their content, or their conduct. For a broken feature, account-service problem, subscription question, or billing concern, use Report Technical or Billing Issues from the hamburger menu instead.

House Rules

What they are: House Rules are Loverbyte's community standards for how people are expected to treat one another and participate on the platform.

Why they matter: Loverbyte is built for honest, playful, vulnerable, and sometimes spicy conversations. The House Rules help make room for that openness without allowing harassment, threats, scams, exploitation, or behavior that makes other people unsafe.

How they work: The House Rules apply across Bytes, Ghost Bytes, comments, replies, Profiles, Dating Cards, Crushes, and Private Rooms. Content or behavior that breaks the rules may be reported and reviewed by Loverbyte.

Good to know: Disagreement, rejection, or a conversation becoming uncomfortable does not automatically mean someone broke a rule. The House Rules focus on conduct that crosses the community's safety and behavior boundaries.

Dating Safety Tips

What they are: Dating Safety Tips are Loverbyte's practical reminders for protecting yourself while getting to know someone online and deciding whether to meet offline.

Why they matter: A good connection can feel exciting quickly, but trust still takes time. These tips help users move at their own pace, protect personal information, notice concerning behavior, and make safer choices as a conversation develops.

What they may cover: Keeping early conversations inside Loverbyte, being thoughtful about what personal details you share, watching for pressure or manipulation, planning safer first meetings, telling someone where you are going, and using Loverbyte's reporting tools when something feels wrong.

Good to know: Safety guidance is not a guarantee that nothing harmful will happen, and it does not replace your judgment. You never owe anyone your phone number, social media, address, money, a date, or continued access to you just because you matched or entered a Private Room.

How do I create or sign in to my account?

Loverbyte uses passwordless Magic Links. Enter your email, and we’ll send you a secure link — no password needed.

What is a Magic Link?

A Magic Link is a single-use, time-limited sign-in link sent to your email. Opening it signs you in.

What happens if I entered the wrong email?

Nothing changes on your account. Just go back to the sign-in screen and request a new link using the correct email.

Can I unsubscribe from account and security emails?

No. Account, security, support, and billing emails are operational — they can’t be turned off through an activity-email unsubscribe.

Profile & Dating

What’s the difference between my Profile and my Dating Card?

Your Profile is your broader Loverbyte presence — your posts, activity, and identity. Your Dating Card is the romantic-discovery layer attached to your Profile when Open to Crushes is turned on.

What does Open to Crushes mean?

Turning on Open to Crushes puts your Dating Card into romantic discovery and lets other eligible signed-in members send you Crushes.

Can people send me Crushes if I turn off Open to Crushes?

No. Turning Open to Crushes off takes your Dating Card out of discovery and blocks new incoming Crushes.

Does viewing someone’s Dating Card notify them?

No. Viewing a Dating Card is private — it doesn’t notify the owner or communicate interest on its own.

Feed & Interactions

What’s the difference between a Like and a Reaction?

Like is the heart action. Reactions are separate emoji or sticker responses you pick from the reaction picker.

Why does the Feed have Daily Themes?

Each day gets a shared conversation focus — a mix of fun, attraction, values, money, accountability, intimacy, and emotional depth. Specific prompts may show up inside a theme, but the theme is bigger than any one prompt.

Who can see what I Save, and does the creator get notified?

What you Save, and the fact that you saved it, is private. The creator can see the total number of Saves on their content, but never who saved it, and they’re not notified.

Can I unsave something?

Yes. Unsaving removes it from your Saved list and lowers the public Save count.

How do Tips work?

When you’re signed in, you can Tip someone through whichever payment services they’ve added to their profile — Cash App, Venmo, or PayPal. Loverbyte counts the Tip once the external service opens successfully.

Does Loverbyte process Tips or take a cut?

No. The payment itself happens outside Loverbyte, through the provider you chose. Loverbyte doesn’t touch the money and doesn’t take a cut.

Does Loverbyte confirm whether a Tip payment was completed?

No. Loverbyte can’t see or verify the amount, submission, or completion of the payment once it leaves the app — that part happens entirely on the external service.

Ghost Bytes

How long does a Ghost Byte last?

A Ghost Byte normally disappears from view 24 hours after it’s posted, unless you delete it sooner.

Does saving a Ghost Byte keep it from disappearing?

No. Saving doesn’t extend a Ghost Byte’s lifespan or preserve a copy once it expires.

Crushes & Matches

Where can I send a Crush from?

You can send a Crush from someone’s Dating Card, or from the specific Byte, comment, reply, or Ghost Byte that sparked your interest.

Can I undo or cancel a Crush?

No. The confirmation step before sending is your chance to reconsider — once it’s sent, it’s final.

What happens if someone declines my Crush?

Declines stay private. The request just closes — no Match, no notification to you, no reason given.

Why can’t I send another Crush to the same person right away?

Sending a Crush starts a one-year cooldown between you and that person. It’s meant to keep Crushes deliberate, not disposable.

What happens if someone accepts my Crush?

Accepting creates a Match and opens one shared Private Room for the two of you, once the room’s unlock conditions are met.

What is a Match?

A Match only exists after a Crush has been explicitly accepted — there’s no such thing as an automatic match.

Private Rooms

What is a Private Room?

A Private Room is the shared, participant-only space created for a Match, active for seven days once it’s unlocked.

How long does a Private Room stay open?

Seven days from the moment it’s successfully unlocked.

What happens when a Private Room expires?

The room becomes inaccessible to both people. New messages are blocked, and there’s currently no read-only mode or archive of past rooms.

Can I reopen a Private Room after it expires?

No. An expired or ended Private Room can’t be reopened during this stage of Loverbyte.

How do I report content?

Use the report option on the specific Byte, Ghost Byte, comment, or reply you’re concerned about.

What happens after I report something?

Loverbyte confirms your report was received and sends it into private moderation review. We don’t guarantee a specific outcome, but every report is looked at.

Will someone know that I reported them?

No. Reports are confidential — the person you reported isn’t notified, and your identity as the reporter isn’t shared with them.

Can I report a technical or billing issue the same way?

10. Consequences. Loverbyte may remove content, restrict features, suspend accounts, or take other action when rules are violated.

Loverbyte is designed to give you more context than a swipe and more direction than an endless chat.

Take enough time to notice who someone is, how they interact, and whether their words and behavior line up. But you also don't have to stay stuck in an unclear connection forever.

There is no perfect formula for knowing another person. Use the information Loverbyte gives you, protect your boundaries, and move forward at a pace that feels right to you.

1. Look beyond the Dating Card

A Dating Card is an introduction, not the whole person.

Before deciding whether you want to move a connection forward, take a look at how someone participates across Loverbyte. Their Bytes, Replies, comments, and interactions with other people may give you useful context that a polished dating profile cannot.

Pay attention to things like:

how they handle disagreement
how they talk about exes or people they have dated
whether they respect other people's boundaries
whether their stories stay reasonably consistent
how they respond when somebody challenges them
whether their public behavior matches the person they present to you privately

You do not need to turn this into detective work. The point is simply to use the context already available to you.

2. Know what Loverbyte signals actually mean

Not every interaction means the same thing.

A Like means someone liked the content.

A Reaction is a more specific response to something you shared.

A Follow means someone wants to keep up with you.

A Poke is a playful way to get your attention.

A Crush is an intentional signal of romantic interest.

None of these actions creates an obligation from the other person.

A Follow is not a promise to date. A Poke is not permission to escalate. A Crush does not require acceptance.

And even a Match means only that romantic interest was mutual at that moment. It does not create consent for sexual conversation, explicit images, exchanging contact information, meeting in person, or physical intimacy.

3. A Crush is interest, not a debt

Someone sending you a Crush does not mean you owe them a Match, an explanation, a date, or continued attention.

Take the Crush in context.

When a Crush came from a particular Byte, comment, reply, Ghost Byte, or other piece of content, that source may help you understand what caught the sender's attention.

You can also look at their Profile, Dating Card, Bytes, and Replies before deciding whether you are interested.

If you are not interested, you are allowed to decline.

If you send a Crush, respect the other person's decision. Romantic interest is an invitation, not something another person owes you for offering it.

4. Use the Private Room for clarity, not pressure

A Private Room gives a Match seven days to explore the connection more intentionally.

That countdown is meant to prevent endless app limbo. It is not a deadline for intimacy.

You do not owe someone:

your phone number
your Instagram or other social accounts
a date
sexual conversation
intimate photos
physical affection
a commitment

just because the Private Room is getting close to its expiration time.

Likewise, the other person does not owe those things to you.

Use the room to ask questions, explore compatibility, notice how the conversation feels, and decide what makes sense next.

Maybe you exchange contact information. Maybe you plan a date. Maybe you continue somewhere else. Maybe you realize there is no chemistry.

5. Don't rush, but pay attention to endless stalling

Taking your time can protect you. So can noticing when a connection never seems to move anywhere.

Someone repeatedly changing their story, avoiding reasonable questions, refusing every reasonable way of confirming who they are, disappearing and resurfacing, or constantly postponing plans may be giving you useful information.

That does not automatically mean they are dangerous or dishonest.

It does mean you are allowed to notice the pattern and decide whether the connection is still worth your time.

Look for forward movement that matches what both of you say you want.

6. Sexy is allowed. Pressure isn't.

Loverbyte is sex-positive. Attraction, flirting, thirst traps, conversations about sex, suggestive content, swimwear, lingerie, and sexual chemistry can all be part of the community.

None of those things creates consent.

A sexy Byte does not mean someone wants explicit messages.

A flirty Reply does not mean someone owes you sexual attention.

A Crush does not mean someone wants sex.

A Match does not mean sexual consent.

A Private Room does not mean "anything goes."

Consent and boundaries continue to matter at every stage of the interaction. If somebody changes the tone in a way you do not want, you are allowed to say no, stop participating, leave the conversation, or report conduct that crosses Loverbyte's House Rules.

Loverbyte's Chemistry Economy lets people support community members whose thoughts, stories, humor, style, looks, or participation they appreciate.

A Tip does not buy another person.

9. Teasing can be fun. Bullying isn't.

11. Move off Loverbyte when it feels earned, not demanded

A successful connection may eventually move beyond Loverbyte.

You may exchange phone numbers, social accounts, video-call information, or make plans to meet.

There is no requirement to do that before you feel comfortable.

Before giving someone more direct access to you, consider whether:

their behavior has been reasonably consistent
you feel comfortable with how they respond to boundaries
you have had enough conversation to feel confident moving forward
a video call would make you more comfortable

Pay attention to the whole pattern.

14. Plan first meetings with your safety intact

4. Post in pieces

You do not need one perfect introduction that explains your entire existence.

Actually, please don't.

Let people learn you over time.

One Byte might show your humor.

Another might show what you value.

7. Ask questions you actually want answered

10. Flirty is fine. Human is better.

14. Sound like yourself

You do not need to perform the version of yourself you think will get you noticed the fastest.

Be funny if you are funny.

Be earnest if you are earnest.

Be nerdy.

Be dramatic.

Be thoughtful.

Be a little weird.

The goal is not to make everybody like you.

15. Take your Byte with you

Posted something that made you laugh? Started a conversation you want your friends to see? Had a take you are still proud of three hours later?

It is fine to screenshot your own Byte and share it on another platform.

Your Loverbyte posts are part of your voice. Let them travel.

Just remember that other people's participation belongs to them too. Before sharing a screenshot that includes someone else's Reply, handle, photo, or other identifying information, get their permission or crop and blur those details.
